"Remember Me" Sophie Kinsella

The last thing that Lexi Smart remembers, she was out drowning her sorrows with her friends Fi, Debs, and Carolyn at a club because she wasn't eligible for a yearly bonus from her employer, Deller Carpets. The next thing she knows, she wakes up in a hospital following a car accident that she doesn't remember. And the strangest thing? It's three years later! She's married, of all things, her bad hair and teeth are gone, she's gone down two dress sizes, and she owns a Louis Vitton handbag!! Lexi has no idea what happened in the last three years, but she's glad that it did!

Lexi gingerly returns to her new life, trying to familiarize herself with unfamiliar people and places, and trying to get back into the swing of things at Deller Carpets, where she's now the head of the flooring department. Things aren't so great in her new life, though. She feels distant from the man claiming to be her husband, she has no idea what she should be doing at work, her old friends can't stand her, and to top it all off, a man named Jon comes out of the woodwork and tells her that they were lovers!

Lexi has no idea how to remedy these situations. Suddenly her fantasy life doesn't seem so fantastic after all. The old Lexi, the friendly, carb-eating Lexi begins to shine through again. As she struggles to save her department from imminent shutdown and she tries to remember the good times that she had with Jon, she finds her old self again, and realizes that she really hasn't missed much.

I enjoyed this book, as I have enjoyed all of Sophie Kinsella's novels. Her characters are quirky and lovable as always, and her books are un-put-downable. I wouldn't say that this was my favourite of all of her novels (I loved "Can You Keep a Secret?), but it was well worth reading, and I would recommend it to anyone who has enjoyed any of her previous books.
